The key to perfect eyebrows is patience.. it's like watering a beautiful plant. Brows go through 3 different hair cycles that can take from 2-6 months to a year to really know if they are fully grown out to their full potential!

Here at Rouge Powder Room, we take our time to explain what your ideal brow shape should be. Think of it as a one of a kind custom brow shape, made for your beautiful face. Keep in mind everyone naturally has a different shape, size, and hair growth pattern. Our 'brow mapping technique' helps determine whether your brow needs to grow out in certain areas or if you should be brushing up or down. Once we have established your ideal brow shape we can choose an ideal method to remove the unwanted hairs through waxing, threading, and/or tweezing.

Unfortunately eyebrows do not grow at the same rate, one brow will grow faster than the other. Keep in mind our faces aren't 100% symmetrical, but our goal is to make your brows look as symmetrical as possible.

Q & A:

Q: Is it true that threading last longer than waxing?

A: Nope, it actually depends on your hairs cycle. Both methods will grow back the same if it's done properly (if the hair is removed by the root).

Q: I've heard waxing will make the skin sag under your eyebrows?

A: Unfortunately any method you do even tweezing will tug on the skin, theres no way around it. However, we try to be as gentle as possible.

Q: Can't I just use my hair dye to tint my brows?

A: We advice that you don't! Hair dye is intended for your hair on your head, our brow hairs are more fragile than our hair on our scalp.  The peroxide used for hair dye is stronger and can leave permanent damage on our brows. Leaving permanent bald spots, thinning of the hair and it actually doesn't last long maybe 2 days tops! We use vegetable tint intended for eyebrows (eyelashes as well)  and last about 2-3 weeks depending on a few factors.

Q : "My brows are done growing, I've left them alone for 2 months. They will never grow back!" (90% of my clients have stated this on their first visit)

A: Granted, I will say there are some really rare instances that someone's eyebrows will not grow back at all due to damage to the follicle. BUT like I said rarely, our brows go through 3 different hair cycles. Meaning it can take anywhere from 2-6 months to a year. You have to consistently get them done regularly to get the hair growth stimulated (like a haircut, you have to regularly get a trim to grow your hair). And the biggest key is to not touch them, even the hairs you think you don't need. It is really hard to know what shape to follow when you are so close to your mirror. Before you know it you get a little tweezer happy and are left with uneven brows. There are some great products out there in the market you can use to speed up the hair growth process. My top favorite products are latisse, rogaine ( the actual treatment) and 100% pure castor oil.

Q: What is brow mapping?

A: It's a technique I use to properly measure out your eyebrows. There are three points that we all have in our eyebrows; beginning, arch, and ends. Everyones shape, hair pattern, and length is unique to our faces. A lot of the times our brows are uneven due to not knowing these three points or we are brushing them against the hair grain (exposing bald spots). I like to think of it as our blueprint prior to starting our service, you'll be able to see exactly what hairs are staying and what hairs are going. I've attached our tutorial below so you can get an even better idea of what brow mapping is all about.
